Toyota Tundra Crewmax Limited
Yet another of the most popular full-size truck options for 2009 is the Toyota Tundra Crewmax Limited. While this Tundra version has a starting price of nearly $35,000 dollars, the features and powerful engine make it well worth the price. The interior is roomy, and the backseat is larger than any of its class competitors. The towing capacity of the Tundra Crewmax is over 10,000 pounds, and the truck offers stability control, though that does affect the ride substantially. The truck is very stable in all weather conditions, but it’s a very stiff ride. The truck offers 14 miles per gallon in the city and 18 on the highway, despite its immensely powerful 381 horsepower V8 engine and its weight of nearly 6,000 pounds.
Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab LT2
The Chevy Silverado Crew Cab offers its driver 15 miles per gallon fuel economy in the city and 19 on the highway. This is despite its 367 horsepower V8 engine, and its nearly 5,500 pound weight. The base price of $39,000 dollars may make it out of reach for all but the most determined truck buyers, and optional features can add another $15,000 dollars to that price tag. The F-150 King Ranch weighs more than 5,600 pounds, and offers a 300 horsepower engine. While the engine is less powerful than many other offerings in its class, it still only manages 14 miles per gallon in the city and 18 on the highway. The truck’s exceptionally heavy weight makes it extremely stable, though, and it’s the best handling truck in its class. The F-150 King Ranch is the best-selling full-size pickup truck, as well. The interior offers a satellite navigation system, sunroof, and heated mirrors that fold in to enable the truck to more readily clear obstacles. The 2009 model has received an upgraded suspension, and the ride quality has improved immensely, as has the off-road capability of the truck. While the Quad Cab has the smallest interior of all the full-size trucks on the market, it’s also one of the most popular because of the features and the capabilities that it offers. The Dodge offers significantly higher ground clearance than competing models, and even the stock tires on the Dodge are able to bring a great deal of grip to the road or trail, providing excellent off-road performance.
